UFC news: Conor McGregor says he’ll ‘only’ come back to fight in a stadium

Conor McGregor He has long brought his return to Octagon after his first attempt to last June came to an unhappy end due to a training injury.

But despite the last fight almost four years ago and his newly opened interest in politics, the famous fighter is seemingly interested in another attempt to return – on one condition.

AND UFC Fighter entered the social media on Tuesday after the success of the Wrestlemania 41, which was held at the Allegiant Stadium, at the Las Vegas Raiders house, to offer his own return to sports.

“I’ll only return to the stadium,” he wrote in the post on X.

While the sports fans responded positively to the post, UFC Executive Director Dana White is unlikely to share the same reaction.

White has previously expressed his opposition to the host fights in the stadiums. In September, before the UFC 306, White made it clear that the host of the fight at the stadium would come to the detriment of fans’ experience for the challenge in production.

“When I put a live event on Saturdays, I wish the best in home experience that people can have, and the same experience on television,” he told the media during a press conference. “I just don’t understand why I should make a stadium when, for what? Can I get more people there? That’s not what I don’t care about.

“What interests me is to put the best live event. People always talk about how much this sport grew – the live event is part of the reason that the sport grew so grew.”

The UFC 306 was hosted by the sphere in Las Vegas, But White said at the time that it would probably be the last such event.

McGregor, 36, was last fought in 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier after he broke his leg during the fight. In June he was supposed to fight Michael Chandler at the UFC 303, but the fight was interrupted after he broke his toe during training.

After sharing the conditions of his return, McGregor called Chandler in a separate post, saying that the two had “unfinished job.”

Chandler responded with his own post, just by further encouraging speculation.
