First on the fox: Bitter inner quarrels on Pentagon They spilled over this week after members of Defense Minister Hegseth’s internal circle were liberated in their duties – and now the charges are flying while their careers are in balance.
Three top help Hegsetth They were put on leave and singled out from the building this week while the Pentagon explores unauthorized leaks: Senior Advisor Dan Caldwell, Deputy Chief of Darin Selnick and Colin Carroll, head of the Deputy Minister of Defense Stephen Feinberg.
Another print assistant, John Ullyot, split with Pentagon because he did not want to be the second commander of the Communication Trade.
But Fox News Digital learned from several defense officers that three employees never said what they were charged with leaks, they did not read their rights and did not receive guidelines about who they can or cannot talk to. They were also not asked to roll their cell phones as part of a leak probe.

At least one of the former employees is advised with a legal advisor, but none are dismissed and everyone is waiting for the outcome of the investigation.
“Paying leave is not considered a disciplinary decision. It is considered a preliminary step to conduct an investigation, so if they think the rail or suffocated, they will have a certain opportunity to answer when a formal decision occurs,” said Sean Timmons, a legal expert in the military and the employment law.
“In the media, they are humiliated to a certain extent. However, this happens every day in the Federal Government. Generally speaking, what has happened so far is not considered a discipline. This is only considered a step of the security protocol to suspend their approval, suspend access to their E -will and can be carried out complete, thorough independent investigation.”
Officials denied that three men had been on leave because of their external policies and said they had not seen connection with their positions about Iran and Israel – even when reports appeared that President Donald Trump told the Israeli premiere Benjamin Netanyahu Pentagon would not intervene if Israel had attacked Iran.

Selnick was focused on business, administration and staff; Carroll was focused mainly on acquisitions; And Caldwell mainly advised the portfolio of Europe.
But the trio was united, according to one defense officer, with the knowledge of the situation, in the fact that the Hegsetsh chief Joe Kasper had a “deep vendet” against them. Kasper issued a letter at the end of March, directing the Pentagon to explore the unauthorized publication of the press and to go to the reports of lies detectors if necessary.
The three of them expressed concern for Hegseth about the captain’s leadership, and Kasper believed that they were trying to release him, one official said.
These tensions were swallowed in “shouting matches in the front office,” the official said.
Another Pentagon official insisted that any accusation that the shooting had to do with anything else but the unauthorized leak investigation was “false”.
“This is not about interpersonal conflict,” that official said. “There is evidence of a leak. These are unauthorized posts, to and including classified information.”

The three assistants are civilian politically appointed, which means that they could be released at will regardless of the investigation. But if they are found to have been dealing with unauthorized leaks, they could reject their security approval.
“There is very little protection when it comes to politically appointed civilian career staff,” said Libby Jamison, a lawyer who specializes in military law. “For appointments, it is a very wide discretion that can be placed on administrative leave or assigned.”
If employees are accused of leaking, the report is sent to the Information Defense System for security, and then there is an independent review of their eligibility to access sensitive information.
“He will get the opportunity, potentially, try to keep their approval and show that they have not violated any protocols of security approval when it comes to handling sensitive information,” Timmons said. “If it is determined that the information was violated by violating the rules, and then there is a violation of guidelines for personal misconduct and for violating sensitive information. Therefore, they could be criminal prosecuted and certainly abolish from employment and take away their approval and recall.”
Or, if an independent officer does not find enough evidence to bind them with leaks, they could return to their positions and maintain approval.
In the meantime, Ullyot said he had clarified Hegset from the beginning that “he was not interested in being a number of anyone in public affairs.”

At the beginning of the administration, Ullyot led the Public Relations Office, leading the memorandum that he pierced his back for the inherited media and moved them to conservative networks. Ullyot also took a murder in the former president of the joint head of Mark Milley’s staff, saying that his “corpulence” gave a bad example for Pentagon Fitness Standards.
But as his temporary main role approached and Sean Parnell took over the spokesman for the head of Pentagon, Ullyot said that he and Hegsetth “could not reach an agreement on the second good goal for me in DOD. So today I informed him that I would go to the end of this week.”
Ullyot said he remained one of Hegseth’s “strongest fans”.
