Tufts University student arrest: Top Dems want answers from Noem, Rubio, ICE

Top Democrats call for a student of Tufts Rumes Ozturk University graduate student, writing a letter to Trump’s administration officials who require answers to the “deeply worrying” incident.

In a message sent to the Minister of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and ICE Director Todd Lyons, MPs said that Ozturk’s arrest this week at Massachusetts “one of the latest examples in a row of a row Ice arrests University students with valid green tickets and visas for their political views. ”

“These are deeply worrying incidents. The administration should not summarize and deport the legal inhabitants of this country only to express their political views,” Democrats wrote, including Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and members of the Department.

“Absent convincing evidence that justifies her custody and recall of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and renewal of her visa,” they added.

AND Homeland Security Department Fox News spokesman said on Wednesday that Ozaturk “approved the privilege of being in this country on a visa” and that “DHS investigations have found that Ozaturk has been involved in the support of Hamas, a foreign terrorist organization that enjoys the murder of Americans.”

“Visa is a privilege, not the right. The famous and supporting terrorists who kill Americans is the basis for abolishing visas,” a spokesman said. “This is healthy security.”
