Trump-Zelenskyy shoutfest could dissolve support not just for Ukraine but our European alliance

Most of the media blame Donald Trump for the shocking victory match that led to the white house he had kicked Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The result, these journalists and commentators say that American relationship with Ukraine is to support life while his people are still struggling and dying in an invasion launched by Russia, even while Trump continues his good relationship with Vladimir Putin. Kremlin’s leader is a dictator, not Zelenskyy, and Russia, not Ukraine, the war for the return of her smaller neighbor to the Soviet satellite status began – as Trump knows well.

There is no doubt that Trump, who has declared JD Vance, has lost at his disposal in the oval office and who dropped the meeting, leaving a lunch that was prepared for their teams to eat staff.

But Trump also makes a fair attitude that he could not make an agreement with Russia if he constantly attacks his leader (something he is obviously not inclined to do, given their history, including Helsinki Summit).

At the same time, Zelenskyy was justified by looking for a security guarantee, saying that Putin It has a history of breach of the agreement, from invasion to Crimea 2014 to the brutal war – including the deliberate target of civilians – which he started three years ago.

But Zelenskyy had one job: to manage the meeting with Trump and sign the expected agreement on rare minerals. And he failed extremely. He took the bait. And while he might have gained some sympathy – Britain and France accepted him and promised him to send peace troops after a settlement – the Ukrainian leader may have irreversibly damaged his relationship with Trump.

The president was blunt saying that without American help, Zelenskyy has no “play” to play – but it’s right.

I performed a long interview “Media Buzz” with Karolina Leavitt, printing secretary of Donald Trump, leading with a fireworks fireworks. It is very skilled in pushing back.

Deciphering Donald Trump: How his rhetoric sends different messages

She told me that Zelenskyy was “antagonistic, and honestly, he was cheeky. He picked up a quarrel with the Vice -President of the United States.” (It was somehow the other way around.) “He repeatedly interrupted President Trump.” (That’s true.)

“President Zelenskyy would not even agree to the end of the fire. If you want the war to be over. How can you not agree to stop the fight? You have the biggest distraction in the oval office in President Trump and you have to believe his ability to turn away Russian aggression.”

Well, Zelenskyy does not believe Trump because he believes that the truce would be locked in Russian territorial profit from the invasion. But what choice does he have?

What hit me the most was that I couldn’t imagine that this thawing would have happened if the meeting had been held behind closed doors – a usual place to complete the agreement. So as I do Support a journalistic approach40 minutes of the press that framed the dialogue.

So I asked Leavittta why, although Trump finished things, uttering him with “great television”, he made a meeting in public.

“Because President Trump is the most fascinating president in history,” she replied. “And as he said, it was great for the cameras to be there because the American people and the world could see what the president and his team saw behind the scenes in the negotiations with the team of President Zelenskyy.”

Will Zelenskyy return to the White House when, as Trump said, he was ready to make peace? Who the hell knows at the moment? But it’s a huge failure.

UK Prime Minister presents the Ukrainian Mirror Agreement Framework because Zelenskyy responds to resignation calls

David Sanger, a diplomatic correspondent of a veterans for the New York Times, penetrates the most Big picture.

What The president wants “is the normalization of relations with Russia. If this means rewriting the history of the illegal invasion of Moscow three years ago, giving up investigating Russian war crimes or refusing to offer Ukrainian long -term security guarantees, and then Mr. Trump is ready to conclude that agreement in this assessment.”

Sanger suggests that Trump, a permanent critic NATO, is moving away from the Atlantic Union that has succeeded in 80 years.

The president “does not set the secret of his opinion that the system, created by Washington, ate US government after World War II.”

Trump, “Such a system gave less and less powerful countries influence over the United States, leaving Americans to take over too many cards to defend the ally and promote their prosperity.

“While his predecessors – both Democrats and Republicans – insisted that alliances in Europe and Asia were the greatest American multiplier of force, retaining peace and allowing the trade to flourish, Mr. Trump looked at them as a bloody wound.”

Look, Trump ran as the first candidate to hold us outside the wars. Many Americans, especially Republicans, have lost patience with us Assistance to Ukraine If money could be spent at home. Help, I should add, nowhere is it not close to $ 350 billion that Trump continues to claim, but it was significant.

Rare minerals would at least give the United States an economic incentive to continue supporting Ukraine and partially paid our country for its generosity.

But in my opinion, there is a far stronger argument to support Ukraine. If Putin succeeds in part of the country, he will be awarded to launch an illegal invasion and his barbarian practices intentionally bombing residential buildings and train stations.

And does anyone believe it seriously to stop there? Isn’t it extremely probably that Putin will attack another neighboring country?

Trump’s approach, aligning Russia to the detriment of Europe, may be popular. But if it stands on that plan, shouting in a white house can be remembered as a turning point for the old world order.

Footnote: Zelenskyy said yesterday something monumental stupid that revenge is Trump’s view that he is not ready to reach a settlement with Russia. Zelenskyy predicted that the end of the war was “still very, very far,” AP reports.

The president quickly moved on to the truth of Social: “This is the worst statement that he could make Zelenskyy, and America will not stand for long! … What do they think?” And Trump later told reporters, “Maybe someone doesn’t want to arrange, and if someone doesn’t want to make an agreement, I don’t think that person will not be long.”

What do they think? I have no idea. This is obviously self -destructive.
