On the same day, Vice President JD Vance visited Greenland, President Donald Trump He has posted a convincing video that emphasizes strong historical connections between the Arctic nation and the United States.
A 90 -second video proclaimed American military efforts to defend and protect Greenland during World War II when hundreds of casualties suffered when the Nazi entry torpedo Torpeded the US Army Dorchester and Sank.
The U-Brod hit a dead night on February 3, 1943, killing dozens immediately, while hundreds of more of the icy waters of the Atlantic, according to the Ministry of Defense. The incident remembers four army of chaplain who gave up their lives to save others.

Trump remains optimistic about Greenland’s chances: ‘I think that will happen’
“In the cold silence of the tundra, a connection was born. Not from a contract or trade, but from blood and courage,” says the clip narrator. “While Germany controlled Europe, the Nazis placed a view of the Arctic. Greenland became unconscious combat and the United States came in, not conquering, but to protect.”
The video notes that nearly 1,000 members of the service, civilians and crews carried with him “hope, duty and quiet fear” in a journey he knew was full of danger. But after the attack, the frigid water of the northern Atlantic “became a grave.”
“These four chaplains have given up on the rescue vest, giving their lives so that others can live to protect America and Greenland,” says the narrator. “Their victims helped win our freedom and we will never forget. Together, Americans and Greenlanders stood as a sentinels at the top of the world.”

A total of 672 people were killed during a deadly attack, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The video was created by securing an American size of a non -profit organization created during the 2024 presidential election to support Trump’s then candidate.
Also shows several clips from war and landscape pictures of Greenland before continuing to make the case of why they need to join forces with Greenlandclaiming that Greenland faces new threats from Russian “aggression” and Chinese “spread”.

“Our common legacy lives in every common mission, every Arctic patrol, every partnership that has been blamed in the shadow of ice and growing tension, it is not just history,” says the narrator. “It’s fate. Now it’s time to get together again, for peace, for security, for the future. America stands with Greenland.”
Vance and Minister of Defense of Peta Hegsetth also shared a video into X.

Although Danish territory said he seeks independence from Copenhagen and is not interested in becoming part of the US, Trump has repeatedly offered, exits his first administration, a desire to secure Greenland for the US like Russian And the Chinese presence grows in the Arctic.

“If you look at Grenland right now, if you look at the waterways, you have Chinese and Russian ships everywhere and we won’t be able to do it,” Trump told reporters on Friday. “We do not rely on Denmark or anyone to take care of the situation. And we are not talking about peace for the United States, we are talking about world peace, we are talking about international security.”
Vance echoed The goals of commander and boss for Greenland on Friday during his visit to the Pituffik Space Base, the northernmost military installation of the Ministry of Defense.

He said Denmark did not do the job of guarding Greenland well.
“What we think will happen is that Greenland, by self -determination, will choose to become independent of Denmark,” Vance explained in a more toned approach from Trump’s previous statements. “And then we’ll talk to Greenland people from there.”

The chaplains who died in the attack were George L. Fox, Methodist Minister, John P. Washington, Catholic priest, Clark V. Poling, Dutch Reformed Minister, and Alexander D. Goode, Rabin. They all have been awarded purple hearts and distinguished crosses for their actions that day. The Congress further created a “four chaplain medal”, which was presented to their survivors in 1961, according to the Ministry of Defense.
