Trump admin blocked from terminating legal aid for unaccompanied migrant minors

The California federal judge blocked Trump administration from the end of the financing of the legal advisor for minors of no accompaniment migrant.

Appointed ex President Joe BidenUS District Judge Aceli Martínez-Olguín of San Francisco issued a temporary limit order on Tuesday that would prevent Trump’s administration from ending financing, while the credit of the basic case is played.

Trump’s administration on March 21 terminated a contract with the Acacia Justice Center, which provides legal services to the children of migrant migrants under the age of 18 through a network of legal aid groups that teach the center. Eleven groups of subcontractors sued, saying that 26,000 children threatened to lose lawyers; Acacia is not a prosecutor.

These groups claimed that the Government had an obligation under the 2008 trade trade law in order to provide vulnerable children with a legal advisor.

In his Tuesday, Martínez-Olguín said that the advocates asked the legitimate questions about whether the administration had violated the 2008 law, guaranteeing a return to the status quo while the case continued.

“The court further reveals that continuous financing of legal representation of children unaccompanied promotes the efficiency and righteousness within the immigration system,” she wrote.

It is the third legal failure in less than a week to immigrate Trump’s administration, although everyone can prove to be temporary as lawsuits progress.

The accused, including the Health and Human Services Department and his Refugee Movement Office, said that taxpayers have no obligation to pay the costs of direct legal assistance to children migrants at a time when the government is trying to save money.

Acacia is under a new contract with the Government to provide legal orientation, including “Know Your Rights” clinics.

Prosecutors said they did not seek the renewal of the contract, but instead they want to return to the status quo – which consumes $ 5 billion that Congress has applied so that children have representation, Karen Tumlin with a justice center in court on Tuesday.

Jonathan Ross and the Ministry of Justice said that the Government still fundes legal activities, such as the “Know Your Rights” clinic, and that the legal clinics can offer their services without accusations.

“They are still free to provide those services to Pro Bon,” he said.
