Rory McIlroy joined some golf immortals after winning AND Masters on Sunday.
McIlroy has become a sixth player who has ever won the Grand Slam in his career, who has raised the trophy to all four main tournaments – Masters, PGA ChampionshipUS Open and Open Championship.
This one in Augusta National Golf Club was the most pronounced for McIlroy, who also did not win the Major of Open 2014.

After defeating Justin Rose on Sunday in the playoffs, one of those five previous Golf Slam Golfers shared congratulations on northern Irish, because he knows too well how much it meant to him.
“Welcome to the Club”, Tiger Woods He wrote on the X. “Completing Grand Slam in Augustus is something special. Your determination during this circle, and this whole trip has shown through and now you are part of history. Proud of you!”
Woods was missed in Augusta this week because he suffered an Achilles injury last month, which allegedly couldn’t walk him properly. Although it was known that the Golf season was probably on the shelf, some wondered if they would be present at dinner on Tuesday night.
Unfortunately, Woods was not among those who enjoyed the prepared Scottie Scheffler menu.

Woods and McIlroy have had a great golf relationship over the years, both of them were Nike athletes and were two of the best in the game since the latter became a professional.
During his interview with reporters, McIlroy noted that Woods was among those at the Grand Slam club, who reminded him annually of his belief that his green jacket would soon be on his back.
Woods, Gene Sarazen, Gary Player, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus were the only five golfers who have ever completed the Grand Slam until McIlroy did it on Sunday.
This was done in a rather dramatic fashion, and McIlroy went through numerous peaks and downs during his last round only to miss the part Putt on his 72nd hole of the tournament, forcing the playoffs with Rose.

But McIlroy dug deep, hitting the necessary drive and the driveway once again shot to 18 years to set himself with a short bird’s path to win.
His weight was raised from his shoulder, and history followed with a green jacket that was put on McIffler in Mcilroy’s back in the Butler cabin after a circle of his life in 2024.
