Trump’s administration ends the protected status for thousands of Afghanists who entered the US after a chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan 2021 under the management of Biden.
The US Ministry of Homeland Security does not plan to renovate the temporary protected status of Afghanistan (TPS), which lasts six to 18 months and applies to people from countries who have been warming wars or have a natural disaster or other event that makes the return seem dangerous.
The US army evacuated more than 82,000 Afghans from the country when the US withdrew in 2021, and the Taliban took over power.

“At least 60 days before TPS expires, the secretary, after consulting the appropriate US Government agencies, is obliged to review the TPS conditions for TPS to determine whether the conditions that support the appointment continue to be fulfilled, and if it is, the length of the naming extension,” DHS voter, Tricia McLaulhlin, told Fox. “If the secretary determines that the country no longer fulfills the legal conditions for appointment, it must break the appointment.”
She added: “The secretary determined that Afghanistan no longer continues to meet the legal requirements for her TPS labels, thus interrupted by TPS for Afghanistan.”
McLaughlin said that the decision was “based on US citizenship and immigration services (USCIS) review of the conditions in Afghanistan. As part of his review, USCIS consulted with the State Department.”

“The terrain conditions have not improved – they got worse,” he told e.g. “The Afghans who have been invited here, who have built lives here, have now been told that they are not important. It is cruel, is chaotic and undermined all that America claimed to be advocated when we promised not to leave their allies behind.”
More than 14,000 Afghans and 7,000 cameramen are expected to lose their TPS protection.

Afghan protection TPS end in May and Cameroon protection in June. At that time will be foreign nationals is eligible for deportation.

Both Afghanistan and Venezuela cite American State Department as “Level 4: Do not travel” because of the risk of terrorism, illegal detention, civic unrest and abduction.
Cameroon is listed as “level 2: increase in caution” for the risk of terrorism, abduction and armed violence.
