The U.K. will hike defence spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 – National


Britain will increase defense by 207 percent of BDP with 2027 and target three percent in the longer term cuts through its foreign development budget Keir Starmer said on Tuesday.

Starmer said that difficult choices are made in the interest of the security of the land and he would the increased expenditures in the enviations from 0.5 percent of BBP to 0.3 per cent in 2027.

“We will also set a clear ambition for exit of defense to rise to three percent of BBP in the next Parliament,” he added.

Britain spent last three percent of BDP on defense in 1993/94.
