John Goodman He is not ready to say goodbye to one of his most significant characters.
In a recent interview for PeopleThe 72-year-old actor shared that he was facing “Conners”, which ends and said goodbye to Dana Conner, a character he started playing almost 40 years ago.
“It’s really hard,” he said. “That’s something I will miss for a while. I’m old and resistant to change.”
Goodman first started playing day Conner in 1988 in the hit show “Roseanne”, which lasted nine seasons before broadcasting his last episode in 1997. The series was revolving around the Connor Blue Collar family and was celebrated for a portrait on the reality of the working class, which echoed with the audience.

More than 20 years after the end of the original show, the whole acting group returned to restarting the popular sitcom, also called “Roseanne”, which lasted one season. Following the controversial tweets made by his star, Roseanne BarrRestarting was recorded as a new show, “Conners”, which included all the same members of the actors except Barra.
“It was so exciting when we assembled this and it seems it was two weeks ago,” Goodman said. “Appearing every day and just being here with everyone. It’s a great place to work.”
Like the original show, Goodman believes that restarting has echoed with viewers because it shines in the center of the “normal family that was really against it”, which is something that is “a lot of people in this country” who feel like they “have been against it” can relate to it.
“It’s really hard. It’s something I will miss for a while. I’m old and resistant to change.”
The seventh and last season of “Conners” should broadcast his last episode on Wednesday, and although he struggles to accept the play is over, Goodman said he would “be grateful for a long time” ABC for allowing the series the appropriate finals.

“You have to be ready to listen to yourself. You have to be relaxed. For me, it was the key,” he explained. “I already know these things and that’s one thing I didn’t believe in.”
