China, who broke up ties with St. Vidik in 1951, demands that all countries end up diplomatic relations with Taiwan before establishing relationships with Beijing. Taivan’s official allies are now counting, but 12, and Sveta Sec is his brightest diplomatic partner.

Since 1957, Beijing has held a firm leash through his Chinese patriotic Catholic Association on millions of Chinese Catholics through his Chinese patriotic Catholic Association. Since a new Pope has been selected in the next month, some are worried about the shift in Taiwan, but few experts believe that the next pontiff will make any urgent decisions. “No rush,” said Dr. Chang Ching, a senior scientific associate of the ROC Strategic Studies Society, “Vatican knows how to wait, and China is not yet ready to approve the Chinese Catholic community the same privileges that Catholics enjoy most of the other nations.
