Longtime Trump Ally Steve Bannon told Bill Maher yes President Donald Trump goes “running for the third term” in the episode “Real Time” on Friday night.
During the discussion of the Committee on January 6th and Bannon’s recent edition from prisonBannon mentioned that he refused to testify before the Committee, not to protect Trump, but to “advocate for the Constitution”.
Maher then told Bannon that he had “brought a copy” of the Constitution to the show and continued to read aloud 22. amendment.
“Amendment 22. No person will be elected to the President’s Office more than twice,” Maher read, adding, “and yet you continue to talk about Trump’s – Maybe you should have it, “before the copy of the Constitution is handed over to Bannon.

The former Trump advisor explained that “President Trump did not launch a third term,” and that they and others were the ones who presented the idea.
“President Trump will run for the third term, and President Trump will be elected again in the afternoon on January 20, 2029. He will be president of the United States,” Bannon said.
“Ok, but what I read there,” Maher replied, pointing to Constitution. “There seemed to be no room for waving, it seemed just that, you know, eight or ten words that only spoke twice.”

Bannon told Maher that “we have a team of people” who are working on a review of the amendment.
“How can a team do something about it? I don’t care if a team of twelve trillion is, the words are still words,” Maher asked.
Bannon noted that there are currently “120 lawsuits about what President Trump does for his rights referred to in Article II”, and that those who sue Trump are currently doing so on the basis of their own interpretation of the Constitution.

While holding a copy of the Constitution, Bannon said, “The interpretation of this [the U.S. Constitution] It is open to interpretation. “
“How could that be open – can I bring it back?” Replied Maher, reaching out to take a copy of the Constitution he gave to Bannon.
The host of a late night, laughing along with the audience, then went through each word 22. Amendments with Bannon.
“I don’t see what” team “finds,” said Maher Bannon, adding that the two of them would just have to “disagree” on the subject.
