Skates of Hope looks to honor the victims of .American Airlines Flight 5342


Christine Cheesman is a mom in the house, art teacher and a new skate. Despite all these roles, she decided to take over another: skates of the founder of hope.

Cheesman, who lives in North Carolina, was at the skating rink when she found out what happened to the Airrican Airlines Flight 5342 when he collided with the US Army helicopter in the evening of January 29 Washington, DC, Killing all 67 on board when two aircraft came into the Potomac River.

Gift skates slide hopes in honor of those lost on Flight 5342. Cheesman uses Instagram to help her take donations before sending them to skates in need.

“The skates who receive skaters are just grateful,” she said, adding that the coaches extend her hand to bless the athletes who fell in difficult times, motivating them with a free pair of skates.

Cheesman’s goal is to make skates of hope for non -profit organizations, and any money donations can go to families who have lost loved ones in an airline accident.
