Republican MPs celebrated after the Senate on Friday confirmed Pete Hegseth for the Minister of Defense by close decision.
The Senate was divided 50-50, with three Republicans-Lisa Murkowski, R-Alask, Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. – joined the Democrats in opposition to Hegseth’s confirmation, forcing Vice -President Jd vance give a decisive voice.
After Hegsetth was confirmed, Republican MPs praised him as a “agent of change” who has a “passion for a fighter”.
“Pete served in the National Guard of the Army as an officer on the front line and has a sharp intellect and passion for the fighter,” wrote Senator Lindsey Graham, Rs.c., on the platform of social media X.

“He did a great job during a very controversial hearing and withstanding all the attacks that found himself in his way,” Graham added. “He is inclined to create a larger, more deadly army and is clear in terms of American enemies, including Iran. Israel will have a better friend than Pete Hegseth.”
Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said he was “proud to vote to confirm Pete Hegseth for the Minister of Defense.”
“He is an agent of a change that the Ministry of Defense needs desperately,” Cruz said.
Senator Oklahome Markwayne Mullin said, “We succeeded, America.”
“It was an honor to be in the fight with her friend and your main deputy: @Petehegseth,” he wrote. “The Hegsetth family is the best !!”
“Hell, yes! @Petehegsetth is a man for the job,” said Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah. “I am honored to have voted for him. We just confirmed him for the next defense minister.”
Senator Roger Marshall wrote: “Congratulations @Petehegsethu, our new defense minister! Pete will bring a transformative change, diverting our army to deadlyness and recruiting efforts.
“Pete Hegsetth perfectly responds to making our army a great deal and reaches peace with power,” Senator Marsha Blackburn wrote, R-Tenn. “It was an honor to support his nomination and I look forward to seeing him to return confidence in the Ministry of Defense by giving war fighters a priority over bureaucrats.”

MP Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-g., Congratulations to Hegseth on his confirmation and said that “every brave soldier and every American is safer with you at the forefront of Pentagon. The US power is coming back!”
“Congratulations to our new defense minister,” said MP Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla.
Democrats, meanwhile, questioned the Hegsets of credentials lead a pentagon in front of his confirmation.
“Is Pete Hegsetth – who failed to manage the finances of the non -profit veterans groups, who pushed his organization into debt to a point where he could not even pay creditors – really a person the Republicans want to be in charge of the Pentagon budget?” Chuck Schumer, Dn.y., wrote the leader of the Senate minority, he wrote on X before voting.
Schumer also asked, “Is Pete Hegsetth really the best Republican who can run the biggest army in the world?”
“Our troops deserve better than someone as volatile and unqualified as Pete Hegsetth,” he added.
Senator Adam Schiff, D-Calif., He said: “We deserve a defense minister with solid experience, healthy judgment and good character. Pete Hegsetth does not satisfy the test.”

Hegsetth, former Fox News manager, faced questions before his certificate of his unbelief, accusations of sexual abuse and excessive drinking, his previous comments against women serving in combat roles in the army and his leadership abilities.
He married three times, Hegsetth admitted that he was a “serial cheater” before becoming a Christian and married his current wife, Jenny. He also originally said that he opposed women in the fight, before he later said that he only opposed the standards for women in the struggle that are different from those for men. Hegsetth further rejected the allegations of sexual assault and said he would refrain from alcohol as a defense minister.
