Although he struggled with the disease, Aries jumped on the microphone with Joe Dombrowski to call the event.
“He feels good,” the Aries said of his return to MLW. “Just somehow adjusting. I haven’t been to MLW for many years, I have worked with them several times during my career, never held anything. It’s just exciting to watch the growth of the company, the momentum they built, and the many names they brought.
“And when I was given the opportunity to go back to the fold and do it behind the comments table, it is definitely something I wanted to take them to.”
Aries had a previous experience on the announcement table.
He invited the matches for WWE NXT blockade: End of Line Premium Live event with Michael Cole and Corey Graves in December 2016, as well as some of their weekly programs.

Fox News Digital said that he had pulled his inspiration from legendary commentators and managers Bobby Heenan and Jesse Ventura.
“I’m trying to be a version of myself, but these guys definitely affect my style, as far as the heel commendation is concerned, which will add a little more inclination,” he said. “I think the other thing I enjoyed in these guys, and I think as a color commentator when you can bring the perspective to actually compete in the ring. It is the whole perspective that you can give the attitudes a commentator who was not in the ring cannot offer.”
Aries was a decorated champion in the ring.
He was a three-time TNA World Champion in the heavyweight category, a six-time champion TNA X-Division, a double world champion Ring of Honor, and in 2013 he was 12.
Now 47 years old, Aries said the role of moving to the commentator was a real move. This does not necessarily mean that he still ended up in the ring.
“I had the opportunity to comment when I was with WWE. It was something that opened after I was injured, and I really enjoyed it and I felt comfortable doing it. And so I thought I thought I might have slowed down my career in Ringu, maybe I would be an opportunity to look for.
“Mlw approached me and asked me if it was something I was interested in. That’s how I felt, I know, I’m 47 years old. I’m still fighting. I just somehow carefully choose my places. He says nothing down the way, maybe I won’t step in the ring with MLW. But for now it’s what I would go with.”
The ram was supposed to be at the invitation for the next MLW event, Aztec Lucha, May 10 in Chicago.
