Pope Francis had ‘peaceful night’ in hospital, will skip Sunday noon blessing

Vatican confirmed early on Sunday Pope Francis is “still resting after a quiet night” as it continues to recover from a double pneumonia.

Francis’ hospitalization came as the Vatican commemorates its Holy Year, attracting pilgrims to Rome from all over. They walk the holy doors at the Basilica of St. Peter and also make pilgrimages to the city in Umbria’s hill Assisi, in order to pray at the House of Francis’s namesake, Vol. Francis.

Francis was supposed to be chaired on Saturday through the audience of the Holy Year at the Vatican Auditor for the Gemelli Hospital Staff and other healthcare workers. They came as planned and completed the pilgrimage, while Francis continued recovery at the hospital.
