Plea to President Trump: Tell Cuba to hand over terrorist killers


They gathered for a moment of silence at 13.19, at the time of the bomb blast.

Attack 50 years ago to this day was directed at the heart American freedom.

He aimed at where our nation was forged during the revolution and where George Washington said goodbye to knowing that the future of his new nation was insured.

On January 24, 1975, the Puerto Rican separatist group, Faln, set a bomb that contradict the historic site at lunchtime, killing four and wounding more than 50 others in the lower part of Manhattan. Sixty-six-year-old banker Harold Sherburne, 28-year-old businessman Alex Berger and 32-year-old James Geork were killed.

“They really attacked the American people,” says Joe Connor, whose father Frank was a 33-year-old banker who was killed in a terrorist attack.

“They attacked Frances Tavern because George Washington said goodbye to his officers after the revolutionary war, where the sons of freedom met and it was a symbol of American freedom and justice and freedom, and they could not adhere to it.”

Joe was 9 years old on the day his father was killed, and in decades after that he dedicated his life to bringing justice for his father and other victims. He is the author of “Shattered Lives: Overcoming the Frances Tavern Terror”, which is now a documentary. Prior to the ceremony commemorating the bombing, there was an emotional lunch, which included family members, dozens of former FBI agents, surviving bombing and others.

The son of Joe Connora, Frank, named after his grandfather and who studies for a priest, gave a blessing.

“We remember four killed 50 years ago today at this place and all those whose lives have extinguished terrorism.

Joe noticed that the gathering was maintained by the door where the bomb, which consisted of ten pounds of dynamite, was located in an unsightly briefcase.

“Cuba has to hand over these people at the end, and the only way to happen is to keep them on the list of state sponsors of terrorism and to continue pressing Cuba,” he says. “This is the moment to do that.”
