AND Pittsburgh Pirates’ 2025 season went into a historically poignant beginning.

The pirates started the season with four matches of set against Miami Marlins and finished with a record 1-3. The overall loss does not show how difficult these three defeats were.

In each of Pittsburgh’s three defeats, Miami won the walk. Sunday’s match saw Marlins striker Griffin Conina equalized the game with solo home run in seventh inning, while Derek Hill scored in the wilderness game.

The pirates were the first team to lose its first three games of 1924 since 1924, according to to mlb.comquoting Elias Sports Bureau. The last team to do this was Pirates of 1924, who won 90 games that season and then won the 1925 World Series.

“That’s challenging,” said Pirate manager Derek Shelton. “We have to do some things.”

Marlins’s corrupt day of Paul Skenes began Thursday when Nick Forbes tripled to start the ninth Inning. Xavier Edwards intentionally walked and stole the second base. Kyle Stowers then placed a pinch of Javier Sanoja and Miami his first victory in the season.

Miami has been the first team since 2003 to win her first three games with a walk. The rays were 3-5 for that season and ended 63-99 under Lou Piniella.
