A fan who fell over the right field and on the field on Pittsburgh Pirates‘PNC Park was identified on Wednesday night.
Kavan Markwood, a 20-year-old former college football player, was identified as a man who fell more than 20 feet on the right pitch warning, he states Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
It was a scary sight on Wednesday night, when Markwood transferred the wall fence and fell to the field in the game between Pirates and Chicago Cubs.

The game stopped immediately as the medical staff of Sprintovo on the field was visibly found on the face of Markwood on the face without a t -shirt motionless to a warning. The coaches of both teams joined EMS to take him to the trolley of the field.

South Allegheny school district confirmed that Markwood was the man who fell. 2022. He graduated from the southern Allegheny Gymnasium.
“Everyone in South Allegheny would say that he is a diligent, very resistant young man. He is a fighter,” he said in a school district in a statement to audit Tribune. “Now he’ll need that resistance. But he has it. He touched a lot of life in South Allegheny. We are a small community. He is the name of the household here. Everyone knows him.

“There are prayers and support of the South Allegheny Community.”
Markwood played for two football programs of Division II, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played in Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, the team said.
Frank Cortazzo, South Allegheny’s main football coach, announced a statement about Markwood at Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
“The coffee is not only an extraordinary athlete, but an even more exceptional young man. His resistance, heart and strength are truly incomparable. Please hold him, his family and his friends in your thoughts and prayers as they move in this challenging time.”
The pirates also published a statement shortly after Markwood fell across the wall in the seventh inning.
Andrew McCutchen, who hit double before Markwood fell, sent a prayer to X.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” he wrote. “I can’t help, but don’t think about that guy, his family and friends. I pray for him tonight. Let’s think about his loved ones and hug our family tonight. I hope he will withdraw through. Let God bless you. Good night.”
Once Markwood was demolished from the field, pirates and cubs continued their game, and Pittsburgh won, 4-3.
