When Matthew Golden left the green room in the NFL in 2025 last Thursday in Green Bay, he appeared as a member Packers – And fans of his hometown let him hear how excited they were about it.
The surreal moment still feels like a dream gold.
“Just the way that happened, I feel like God did it so for a reason. That’s something he’ll stay with me forever,” he told Fox News Digital, as he also talked about his time working with Tide in Tide Draft.

Golden’s response to his day of draft day is all in terms of how much faith plays a big role in his life.

This powerful faith, as well as a strong family relationship, helped to encourage gold to the heights of NFL today. And he knows that he would not be in this position without the two pillars of the foundation in his life.
“It was time for me to hit me and God was the one who was there for me,” Golden explained. “It was time for people to doubt me, and sometimes I wanted to give up. But returning to God, he definitely helped me get here.”

One of the biggest pieces of trouble came in 2023 when Golden suffered a foot injury while playing for Houston Cougars. After a solid nine games, he had to miss the rest of the season.
“It was the first time football had taken away from me,” Golden said of the injury. “So, I didn’t know how to deal with it and I was frustrated. But at the time, my relationship with God became much stronger and I began to realize that it happened for a reason.”
Golden would enter the transfer portal in December of that year, and he landed with the Longhorns, staying in Texas not far from the house.
Golden published his best collegial season in his year with Texas in one year, collecting 58 admission for 987 meters and nine Touchdown in more than 16 games to help the team to reach Play -Off College Football.
Later, they will launch a 4,29 yard dash in a combination of NFL, cementing their place as one of the best receivers in this year’s class, and Packers jumped on the opportunity to make a franchise history.

For the first time since 2002, Packers chose a receiver in the first round of NFL draft, and Golden is ready for this next chapter of his football career.
“Now looking back, it definitely makes sense, and as I said, God went through everything I went through in my life for a reason. I feel like it’s truly what I’ve done today and that’s why I’m what I am.”
