“It was an amazing year, probably the best year of my life,” Error, 18, he said in a video posted on his Instagram. “I have so much gratitude, I feel so blessed for all the opportunities they have given me.”

“Duke has always been a dream for me, but I’m excited to announce that I will bring my name in 2025. NBA draft. Today is just the beginning, but I have a ‘brotherhood’ with me for life. ”

Flagg led Duke this season in almost every statistical category, including points (709), jumps (278), assistants (155), theft (52) and blocks per game (1,4). He scored 19.2 points on average, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blockages and 1.4 stolen balls per game, but his best view was in January when he set ACC’s freshman record with 42 points against Notre Dame.

“Really proud of Cooper for a special season he had this year. I think recognition is speaking for himself with what he has done,” said head coach Jon Scheyer in the video posted on the team’s social media. “His highlights are his statistics, the way he influenced the game on both ends of the floor, really in every category, he was out of the ladder, as a good season of freshmen he had here.”

Flagg closed the phenomenal year with a semi -final appearance at the NCAA male tournament and was named the winner of the Naismith Player of the Year 2025 Award, becoming only the fourth freshman who was named his recipient.
