President Donald Trump Announced plans for chopping a tree that was said to be planted by a former president Andrew Jackson.
In the social place of truth on Sunday, Trump said he cooperated with “wonderful people in the service of the National Park” to achieve “huge improvements to the White House, which preserved and protected history!”
“One of the interesting dilemmas is a tree that is legendary president and general, Andrew Jackson, planted a tree,” Trump described. “It’s a southern magnolia that came from his house, Desert, in Tennessee. That’s good news! “
“The bad news is that everything has to be finished, and this is a tree in a terrible state, a very dangerous security danger, at the entrance to the White House, no less and now must be removed,” he continued.

The historic tree will be demolished in the coming days, and Trump wrote that he would replace him with a “other, very nice tree”.
“Historical wood from the tree will preserve the white house staff and can be used for other high and noble purposes !!!” The president added.
Jackson, who was president from 1829 to 1837, allegedly planted two Magnolia trees near the White House in honor of his wife Rachel, who died in 1828. But according to the website of the National Park (NPS), the connection between trees with old Hickory is discussed.
“Historical photographic documentation shows that Magnolias first appeared at this place near the southern porch in the 1860s, and still the trees are attributed to President Jackson,” the agency explained.

“In 2006, the trees were appointed trees of witnesses by the National Park Service, witnessing many” significant historical and cultural events, “the NPS described.” The tree base also took over the transmission of Cessna aircraft, which aimed the White House in September 1994 and subject to a significant removal and trimming of the 2017 Branch in December 2017 “
The initial reactions to Trump’s announcement were mixed on social media, although the supporters of the president largely supported the decision.
“I am an expert on trees per store, I’ve been working with trees for three decades … this [magnolia] The trees have a notorious soft tree that can become dry and fragile over the years, “one X wrote the user.” I would not be close to that thing. “
“Be prepared for the left to treat it like WW3,” another joked.
