ICE detains University of Alabama doctoral student from Iran

Officers of the University of Alabama have detained the US immigration and customs implementation (ICE) officers early Wednesday.

University of Alabama Officials confirmed Fox News Digital on Wednesday that a doctoral student, which university newspapers identified as Alirez Doroudi, The federal immigration authorities detained early in their home outside the campus.

Doroudi, who studied mechanical engineering, allegedly came to the US in January 2023 on a student visa F-1 after “Cleaning of all Immigration Checking”, Reported Crimson White.

University officials did not respond to further tests for Fox News Digital about whether the institution knew about the alleged visa that had expired.

Earlier this week, the ice kept a a Tufts University student from Turkey in Somerville, Massachusetts.
