Huisentruit, native Long Praji, Minn. She was on her way to working as a morning anchor at Kimt-TV at Mason City in Iowa, when she disappeared in the early morning of June 27, 1995.

Over the years, private investigator Steve Ridge has encouraged the courts to unbutton their records related to the case.

March 27, Senior Judge James M. Drew in Cerro District Gordo ruled to partially detect the 2017 search order connected to Huisentroit’s disappearance, retaining a follow -up statement under the seal to protect the integrity of the investigation in progress.

Ridge’s lawyers, Nellie O’Mar and Jesse Marzen, sought to detect records associated with GPS tracking devices set on two vehicles bound to John Vesice. Vansice has long been considered a person interested in investigation, but in that case he has never been charged.

Vehicles, Honda Civic from 1999 and GMC 1500 of 2013 were reportedly registered at the address in Arizona, where Vansice lived in early 2017. The vehicles did not exist at the time when Huisentruit disappeared in 1995.

Judge Drew declined a proposal to re -open court records to support the abolition of a search warrant. The court ordered that the statement must remain sealed because the investigation remains active.

The court noted that the statement could only reveal information that the perpetrator would know, such as certain times, found items or details about the scene. He added that an unpublished statement could help the potential suspect “to know what to hide.”

The Huisentruit family posted a statement on Jodi’s Hope Facebook page, saying they did not support the abolition of documents.

“As a family, we have received numerous inquiries about the legal battle that is currently playing in the courts with Jodi’s case,” the family statement said. “Without we have too much to go into the weed, we all agree that if the publication of information would be interfering with an investigation in any way, then the search warrant should remain sealed.

“We are not on board with information published in the public, especially while the investigation is open and in the course. We admit that there are several different opinions about it – we respect it and ask us to respect ours. At this point, this is our only public comment that we will do on this issue.”
