Matt Petgrave, a man arrested on suspicion of murder after death hockey Adam Johnson will not face the accusations, British prosecutors said on Tuesday.
New York Post He reports that the Crown Prosecutor’s Office (CPS) decided not to charge Petrave, who was involved in a tragic collision with Johnson during the Nottingham Panthers-Sheffield Steelers 28. October 2023 during the hockey game.
The Petrave slider sliced Johnson’s neck during the collision, which ultimately led to his death.

Southern Yorkshire police arrested Petgrave two weeks after the incident, although they did not specify who was public. Then Petgrave announced an appeal for legal fees, saying that he was the subject of a police investigation.
CPS explained his explanation not to charge Petgrave, calling the situation a “shocking and deeply disturbing incident.”
“CPS police have been closely cooperating closely to determine whether any criminal charges should be filed against another ice hockey player,” said Crown Prosecutor Deputy Prosecutor Michael Quinn, in place.
“After a thorough police investigation and a comprehensive examination of all the evidence of CPS, we concluded that there is no real look for the belief for any criminal offense, so there will be no prosecution. Our thoughts remain with family and friends Adam Johnson.”

When a terrible incident occurred, she was discussing social media about whether Petgrave was deliberately collided with Johnson. But Johnson’s teammates supported Petgrave, with one saying over there “It’s not a chance to be intentional.”
The debate also caused the protection of ice hockey players, and the English Ice Hockey Association quickly wrote down the door protection for all players.
The announcement followed two days after Johnson’s accident, as the door protection was a mandate starting at 2024.
Johnson played 13 games during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 season Pittsburgh Ponguinswho honored him at the time of his tragic death.

“Pittsburgh Ponguins join the whole world of hockey in the mourning of Adam Johnson, whose life has ended tragically too early,” the statement said. “We present the deepest condolences to Adam’s family and friends, as well as all Adam past and current teammates and coaches. Adam will always be part of the Ponguins family.”
