Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said on Sunday that the comments of American officials about the Arctic Island were uninvited and that the island could not be purchased, in defiance of the US president Donald Trumpwhich has repeatedly floated with the idea of buying a strategic territory.
Nielsen said that Greenland “will never, there will never be a real estate that anyone can buy,” while standing at Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederixen during a joint press conference at Frederixen’s official residence Marienborg in Lyngby, Denmark.

“Talks from the United States were not respected,” Nielsen said. “The words used were not respected. That’s why we need in this situation, we have to stand together.”

“Of course, we have the will to continue and invest in the Greenland society,” she added.
Nielsen should meet King Frederik X on Monday before returning to Greenland with Frederik for a royal visit to the island.
Frederixen and Nielsen asked if a planned meeting involved in them and Trump.
