Marc Fogel, an American who was Closed in Russia Since 2021, he landed in the United States on Tuesday.
Fogel, a history teacher who worked at the Anglo -American school in Moscow, returned to the US after releasing Russia after talking to Trump’s administration.
Held a 14-year sentence after his arrest in August 2021 at the Russian airport for possession of drugswhich his family said was medically prescribed marijuana.
The Fogel was seen in the painting that the White House posted on social media smiling and raising his fist as she was wrapped in the American flag while descending from the plane on US soil.

“Marc Fogel is back !!! Promises, promises held !!!” The White House wrote on X.
After arriving in the US, Fogel, from Pennsylvania, met with the President Donald Trump In the White House and called him a hero for insurance of release.
“I want you to know that I’m not a hero at all at all. And President Trump is a hero,” Fogel said after meeting Trump.
“These men who came from diplomatic service were heroes,” Fogel continued. “Senators and representatives who brought legislation to my honor – they brought me back home – they are heroes.”

Fogel added, “I’m in fear of what everyone has done.”
He said he currently felt “like the happiest man on earth.”
Trump’s national security adviser, Michael Waltz, said the US and Russia “negotiated the exchange” to secure Fogel’s release, although he did not reveal what they had given up from. Some previous negotiations included the editions of the Russians by the US or his allies in exchange for detained America.
Asked by a journalist on Tuesday if they had given up anything in return for Fogel now, Trump answered “Not much” without the offer of additional details.

Fogel’s family thanked Trump and others who worked to ensure his release.
“We are out of grateful, facilitated and overwhelmed that after more than three years, our father, husband and son Marc Fogel finally return home,” the family statement said.
“Thanks to the unwavering leadership of President Trump, Marc will soon return to American soil, freely where it belongs. This was the darkest and most difficult period of our lives, but today we are starting to treat,” the statement added.
