Fort Lauderdale, Florida, uses a different approach to spring breaking messages from her Southern neighbor, Miami Beach.
Police Miami Beach started a a Reality TV-Tematic Adult Campaign In mid -February, encouraging spring to avoid the area after the police saw increased violence During the spring break, starting around 2020. Things started to turn in 2024 while the city strengthened the police and made Hundreds of arrests.
The city of Fort Lauderdale has launched a similar advertisement with the TV theme on February 26, saying to Spring Break tourists to “know the rules” and “liability in our city.”

Two ads display different approaches for the spring break of two departments – Miami Beach tells spring breeders to completely skip a holiday destination, while Fort Lauderdale encourages them to come as long as the city’s rules.
The rules include alcohol, coolers, tents, tables, electric scooters and live or enhanced music in certain areas.

The city said it would be “increased implementation” in certain areas and in a certain time of day, as well as cleaning the beach every day at 5:30 pm
“Our city is known for its beautiful beaches, an excellent time and an exciting atmosphere, and we want all – residents and guests equally – have a safe and pleasant time,” said Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Tractalis in a statement on February 26. “Know the rules: to maintain fun and respect, additional limitations are in force by April 12th.”

In the meantime, Mayor Miami Beach, Steven Meiner, called this year “checking reality”, saying that the City Ad campaign shows “What will happen if you come here and not play according to our rules.”

Government Ron Desantis noticed during a press conference on Friday that the Spring holiday in Miami saw the wild crowds starting around 2020, when people fled Florida during Pandemia Koronavirus, because its jobs and public premises remained open, while other countries were still closed.

“We were grateful for that. Honestly, a lot of companies came here and never came back. People came here and they never came back because they appreciated the quality of life,” said Osantis, “but he also pulled out control.”
The governor added that he directs the state implementation of the law to provide additional Miami Beach staff and assets and other spring spring sites in the coming weeks.
