I couldn’t trust my ears when I heard my friend and colleague Calley Means, co -founder of Truemed and adviser to health care secretaries and human services Robert Kennedy, who reported, laughed and shouted at the health care for Politico this week.
Obviously, this room full of lobbyists from health care and partisan critics did not want to hear the truth: US health policy in its current form is an absolute and ultimate failure. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the largest health bureaucracy in the world, needs an overhaul and that must happen quickly.
On Wednesday, he came to Calley’s return only 24 hours after HHS began to release 10,000 federal employees – including rooted officials from agencies such as FDA, NIH and CMS, who presided over the amazing collapse in American health.
Calley means trying to reform US health care
Shortly after the announcement of the secretary Kennedy on restructuring, former FDA commissioner Dr. Robert Califf embarked on his LinkedIn page and stated “FDA as we knew it was over.”
Thank God it is over.
For decades, ineffectiveness has enabled our food and chemical corporations to flood our food system with new chemicals unattended by third parties or necessary security studies.
The decades of outdated regulatory actions have allowed US companies to poison us with ingredients that do not use in other countries – such as artificial foods that are associated with hyperactive in children and Animal Studies Cancer.
Decades of poor nutritional standards have enabled infants with formulas with the first ingredient – “rigid substance corn syrup” – the form of added refined sugar – giving newborn babies.
If our health authorities worked, we would not have been the most lively developed country on Earth. We would not have exploding rates of obesity, infertility and depression. The facts speak louder than Boos.
We need a total overhaul in the way our regulatory bodies operate. We need to replace the old thinking. We need a new staff that is not full of conflict of interest. We need the science of a gold star that will come to the fundamental cause of why we are in this trouble and how to solve it.
Our Government Poor Failed to protect the health of people and is countless examples of it – but now with the President Donald Trump And the bold sight of secretaries Kennedy to reverse the chronic illness, we have a turning point in history that we have never had before.
What Calley said on the summit was not complicated: the people who helped to create this crisis should not be those who manage. Yet, when he pointed out that America has a “most handsome children in the developed world” – and that lauging reform, despite this reality, is shameful – the room has become hostile.
He claimed that the Kennedy secretary did exactly what voters- especially the mom of mom like me- sought: removing rooted bureaucrats who labeled independent experts as quacks, punished disagreement and pushed aside the raised rates of chronic diseases- ignoring the fact that food was medicine. Doing differently, as Calley said, “to tell the moms a matter that their voices and voices are not legitimate.”
People voted for change. Not for less twists – for structural disorders. And that’s why the moms end up laughing. I understand anger. But I also understand what is about.
If our health authorities worked, we would not have been the most lively developed country on Earth. We wouldn’t have exploding the rates of obesityinfertility and depression. The facts speak louder than Boos.
Obesity the most common in these 3 southern cities
And let’s be clear: This is not the first time the reform has made the elite unpleasant. Calley is a warrior like I’ve never seen before. Doing what actual reformers always do – they face institutions that protect themselves at all costs. And he has an army Maha mom behind him.

I’m one of them. As a longtime food activist and founder of the Food Baba movement, I spent more than a decade, challenging the same health facility that is now reformed. I talked directly with moms in the ui outside and outside White house Driving by this effort – women who watched their children suffer from chronic illness, only to be gas agencies that were supposed to protect.

These are not voices. They are citizens who require responsibility, transparency and return to common sense in public health. I am proud to stand with them.
I traveled all over the country with Calley, in a wide effort to repair what the food industry did to us – testifying in various countries who want to reform old -fashioned policies that allow harmful chemicals in our food and maintain Americans to the sick.

This moment is not about optics. These are outcomes – are US children healthier in five years. Whether families feel and serve Public healthcare institutions. Will the Government finally start a priority to the prevention of pharmaceutical profit.
Calley should not apologize for the priority of American health over bureaucratic ego. It should not be distracted because the insiders are embarrassed. It is part of a team that builds a slimmer, more transparent and more prominent HHS. And if I tell him the truth raises him again, I have the feeling that he will take the microphone every time.
