Hamel, who lives in Seattl, told Fox News that his family reached out in the community this week to help find a man who was with his daughter’s night when she fell. Within 24 hours, university police managed to talk to a person who was interested in.

“I think it was incredibly successful. … I can’t say enough for Santa Barbara. It was so fast. They really helped us to move the investigation forward,” Hamel said. “I didn’t police. I’m on the outside, but they really seem to really move him forward. “

“An individual identified in connection with the incident in our residential hall is located and interviewed,” Santa Barbara said in a statement. “The investigation is still ongoing and we cannot discuss additional details at this point.
