It happened when Flagg jumped to get a return. As he fell to the floor, he landed on the left ankle. He immediately crumpled on the floor. A 6-foot-9 freshman stayed on the floor for a few moments before his teammates helped him. Flagga then sat on the bench before, clearly in trouble.
After leaving the game, Flagga was placed in a wheelchair and taken to the locker room.

Despite the injury, Flagg returned from the locker room to the bench to cheer up his teammates in the second half but did not return the game.

Flagg, named ACC player and newcomer of the year by Associated Press on Tuesday, missed the semi -final victory on Friday against North Carolina’s rivals. Later Scheyer judged Flagg for a match match on Saturday night against No. 13 Louisville.
Flagga was sitting on a bench in black warming during the UNC game, standing on the back of Huddles, an injured teammate Malik Brown. Flagg walked during the game on Friday without the main or protective boot.
