MLB legend Pedro Martinez revealed on Tuesday night that he has family members still buried in ruins after the roof crashed at a nightclub in Dominican Republic.
Former Boston Red Sox Star talked about a tragedy that left more than 120 people dead and hundreds more injured in Santo Doming.

“I still have family members who are still in the ruins and do not know what happened to them, but we just want to be strong, as we have always been,” he said in a video posted on his Instagram.
Martinez expressed condolences to those who lost their loved ones and who are still trying to find those who miss them.
“With a heavy heart, I send condolences to all members of our family and people in the United States who have family in the Dominican Republic,” he added in the post on X.
“We are sad and affected by tragedy. Our hearts are with you. We are a country that prays a lot and remains united all the time.”

The Jet Set Night Club was packed on Monday night on Tuesday morning as he held one of his weekly parties. Former MLB players Octavio Dotel And Tony Blanco was among those who were killed when the whole roof crashed as the discovery danced at the Merengue concert.
Nelsy Cruz, Governor of the Northwestern Province of Montecrist and the sister of former MLB All-Star Nelson Cruz, called the President of the Dominican Republic of Luis Abinader while captured in the ruins. She died later at the hospital. Other victims were singer Rubby Perez, saxophonist Luis Solis, fashion designer Martin Polanco and several others.
The officials died at 124.
The authorities requested a tranquilizer because those who wait for information about their loved ones were increasingly concerned.
MLB remembered those who lost themselves in the tragedy before some games on Tuesday night.

“Baseball Major League is deeply sad for passing the Octavio Dotela, Tony Blanc, Nelsy Cruz and all the victims of last night’s tragedy in Santo Domingo,” he said. “We send our cordial condolences to the families and friends of all those who are affected by both our colleague Nelson and his entire family,” MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement.
