Dolly Parton He was reflected in life without her late husband, Carla Dean after their 60-year-old romance.
During the performance on Friday at “Today”, the 79-year-old country music icon opened on how she faces the loss of Dean, who died in March at the age of 82.
“Oh, you know what, I become very emotional when people pick it up,” Parton split as she wrapped. “But we’ve been together for 60 years. I’ve loved him since I was 18.”

“It’s a big adjustment just trying to change patterns and habits,” she continued. “I will manage well and I am very involved in my work and that was the best thing that could happen to me.”

“But I will always miss, of course and I always love him. He was a great partner for me,” she added.

“I’m so grateful. I got so many cards, letters, flowers, from all over the world,” Parton said.
“I had no idea Carl Dean was so famous,” the spouse joked.

Despite being married for almost six decades by internationally renowned songwriters, Dean was a very private man who drove away from the spotlight, although he played a strong supporting role in Parton’s life.
In a 1977 interview with Country Music magazine, Parton explained that he was “good” that Dean was a “mysterious person to the public.”
“My career separate from my marriage is perfectly natural for us,” she said. “We like it like that. It’s too right and too natural and too comfortable and too safe to ever be nothing else.”
Parton first met Dean In Nashville’s laundry, Tennessee, in 1964, when she was 18, and he was 21 years old, and a couple tied a knot two years later.
During his life, Dean rarely gave interviews. However, in 2016 he spoke with love about Parton, while the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

In a viral clip, the little boy was seen shocked and pleased when he noticed Parton, who smiled and pointed to him while she was driving in the carriage.
“I remember him on the parade. I thought, ‘Honey, will you have a heart attack here in front of everyone? “Parton said.” That was the sweetest thing. I just wanted to get off that cart and run and just squeeze it. It was simply great. “

“That day after the parade I became very emotional because it was so much love,” she said. “Immediately after I lost Carla and I was just so bothered with emotions, and I went into the van and the longest time, just feeling all that love and emotion.”

Parton announced Dean’s death in a cordial statement she shared on Instagram on March 3.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Singer “9 to 5” wrote. “Words can’t make the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for prayers and sympathy.”

On March 7, Parton went out to Instagram to discover a new song she dedicated to Dean, entitled “If you weren’t there.”

“We spent 60 precious and meaningful years together,” Parton continued in her inscription. “Like all great love stories, they never end. They live in memory and song. It will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate him to this song.”

Two weeks after Dean’s death, Parton opened as Continuing After his passage.
“I’m going better than I thought I wanted,” Parton told Knox News. “I’ve been with him for 60 years. So, I’ll have to learn some of the things we did. But I’ll always keep him close.”
