Dodgers’ Mookie Betts will miss Tokyo Series vs. Cubs with lingering illness



Mookie Betts will miss Los Angeles Dodgers‘Tokyo series against Chicago Cubs Due to illness. Dodgers presenter Dave Roberts announced the decision on Sunday night.

Roberts said Betts starts to feel better, but has lost almost 15 pounds and is still trying to be rehydrated and gain strength. Roberts added that the eight-time All-Star could fly to the United States before the team in an effort to rest and prepare for the home opener on March 27.

Cubs and Dodgers are opening a season of baseball season Major League on Tuesday in the Tokyo dome. The second game is Wednesday.

“They won’t play in these two games,” Roberts said. “When you are dehydrated, this is what opens the person to the injuries of soft tissues. We are very in mind.”
