The New York City Council under the supervision of Democrats sue Mayor Eric Adams for cooperation with Trump administration allowing ICE to conduct an investigation into immigration at the Rikers Island.

It is an executive order, signed last week by the Deputy Mayor of New York City Randy Mastro, which enables the federal immigration authorities to manage an office on the island of Rikers to help conduct crime investments on drug trade, organized violence and activities of migrant gangs.
The command says that the safety of New Yorkers is threatened by violent transnational gangs like MS-13 and Train Aragua -Bande, which Trump’s administration has labeled as foreign terrorist organizations and there is a critical need for the federal implementation of the law to divide real-time intelligence with the City Department for Repair and Police.
The command allows federal agencies to enforce the law to share intelligence with the repair department and NYPD about the activities of the criminal gang among individuals within and out of custody.

The command was issued a week after federal charges against Adams were rejected. Kayla Mamelak, a spokeswoman for Adams, responded to a lawsuit calling her “unfounded” and “opposite public interests.”
“The City Council seems to spread misinformation,” Mamelak told Fox News Digital. “So let’s be clear: keeping confidence of almost 8.5 million New Yorkers our administration serves and protects each day and ensures that there has never been any appearance of any conflict-mayor Adams delegated all the powers, responsibility and decision-relating to any action that approved the federal officials to investigate crimes on the island of Rikers.
