Shottenheimer, 51, brings almost three decades of experience as a coach of an offensive auxiliary coach. He served as an offensive coordinator for several other teams before joining Cowboys in 2022, working in that role for The Jets (2006-11), Rams (2012-14) and Seahawks (2018-20).

Schottenheimer is also the son of a decorated former NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer. The older Schottenheimer was the main coach for four teams, noting the ninth victory (205) for a coach in NFL history.
