Elliotta abducted Hoffman, who was 18 at the time, from his home the day before Thanksgiving and shooting in the style of execution in the Rural Parish of St. Tammany.

“Hoffman was sentenced and sentenced to death for brutal and ruthless rape and murder of a 28-year-old [Mary] Molly Elliott in 1996. Tonight, justice was served for Molly and the state of Louisiana, “Murrill continued.

Hoffman refused to make a final statement before the gas began to flow, after which he was declared dead at 18:50 in the Louisiana Penitentiary, Associate Press reported.
Authorities said that nitrogen gas flowed 19 minutes during what one official called a “impeccable” execution, although one witness claimed that Hoffman was convincing during the procedure.
Immediately before Hoffman was scheduled for death, the United States Supreme Court voted 5-4 to withdraw the request for the last blow to block execution.

Hoffman’s lawyer, Cecelia Kapt, earlier and unsuccessfully claimed in a state complaint that the execution of a convicted killer with nitrogen gas was unconstitutional and that he would break his religious freedom.
“It’s a conscious suffocation,” Kappel told Wvue. “Has a pillow over his face. It’s like drowning.”
The appeal stated that, since Hoffman Buddhist, the execution procedures will disrupt breathing and meditation practice.

Murrill said the court decision to help collect justice for Elliott.

Murrill added that she expects at least four people to be executed this year to Louisiana’s death sentence.
“The last execution here in Louisiani was Geralda Bordelon, a convicted killer and a sex offender in 2010. Justice was postponed too long. And, together with the Louisiana Ministry of Justice, I remain dedicated to securing justice in all cases of criminal punishment in Louisiani,” Murrill Vow.
“I have laid the oath to follow and defend the law. Now Jessie Hoffman is confronted with the ultimate judgment of God in Ahiret. My prayers remain with family and friends Molly Elliott and that no family member ever has to go through the pain he still feels today for losing someone like Molly.”

Hoffman should become a seventh person executed in the United States in 2025, and the first in Louisiani since 2010. He was the fifth person in the United States ever executed by nitrogen gas, and the previous four occurred in Alabama.

The death of nitrogen gas is currently allowed in only four countries, including Louisian, Alabama, Mississippi and Oklahoma. However, the method was only used in alabama.
Over the last decades, the number of executions at the national level has decreased suddenly due to legal battles, according to AP, which is why most countries abolished or stopped or carried out a death penalty.
