Anti -Semitism in Canada has exploded After Hamas’s 7th October 2023, the massacre, reaching record numbers last year and becoming a central question of the Jewish community in the country on the eve of the federal elections on April 28.

Last week, the leader of the conservative party Pierre Poilievre, Prime Minister Mark Carney, accused the protesters of Pro-Hamas of setting “hate march” and promising deportation of anti-Semitic strangers from Canada.

“The decay chaos we see on our streets, targeting synagogues and Jewish schools with hatred, vandalism, violence, fiery bombing … These things were unheard of from 10 years ago,” Poilievre said.

He also warned of foreign agitators. “Anyone who is here on a visitor visa who executes the law will be deported from this country,” Poilievre said.

“The Canadian Jewish community,” Poilievre added, “you are not alone, you have friends. Canadians are with you. You have the right to carry your David star, your statue, and have your mezuz on your door. You should be proud of being a Jew and you should never hide your Judaism to be sure.

On Friday, Poilievre divided into x The call of the Council of the Jewish Community in Montreal that Jewish voters support him. In the video, the executive director of the group, Rabbi Saul Emanuel, referring to Poilievre’s support to the community, said: “We remember who was standing with us when this is most important, and now we can all make a difference.”

Emanuel noted that Jewish voters could play a decisive role in as many as 14 districts in Canada. “Our voice is important, our voice is important. That’s why I’m proud to support Pierre Poilievre -Ai I urge you to do the same,” he said.

“I’m aware,” Carney replied. “That’s why we have a weapon embargo [on Israel]. “

The next day is Carney, who replaced the longtime in March Prime Minister Justin TrudeauHe claimed he had not heard the anti-Israeli demonstrator properly.

His return did not prevent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to conflict. He announced on X that “Canada has always stood on the side of civilization. So is Mr. Carney.

From my experience, even these statistics do not tell a true story. They are insufficiently reported. “
