Cain Velasquez sentenced: Ex-UFC star gets prison time for 2022 shooting


Former UFC Star Cain Velasquez He was sentenced to five years in prison on Monday after declaring that he had not competed in his role in the 2022 shooting in California.

He shared regret for the shooting before the judge sentenced the sentence.

“I agree to accept any punishment,” he said. “Moving forward, I will try to give a great example to everyone. Of all this, I want certainly feelings for my family and community.”

Velasquez was arrested in February 2022. For attempting to kill and multiple weapons charges after police said he had shot a pikap who was carrying a man he allegedly sexually attacked his four -year -old son. The man was later identified as Harry Goularte.

Prosecutors said Velasquez was chased by a truck carrying a man with traffic streets in San Jose. Authorities said that it had stretched about 11 miles.

The former mixed martial artist wounded a man’s stepfather in the incident, the officials said.

Velasquez earned his first UFC heavyweight category championship In 2012 by defeating Junior dos Santos. Velasquez successfully defended the title twice.
