Denis Arndt, actor nominated by Tony, whose many roles on the screen included in the lead roles in “Swat” and glorious Sharon Stone testing He died in a “basic instinct”. He was 86 years old.
Arndt died “calmly in his bed” in his longtime cabin house in Ashland, Oregon, Tuesday, his family announced in osmrti Posted on Wednesday.
“In his own way, Dad lived his life as a full and generous performance, known for his incredible wit, charm, rebel spirit, disrespect, the sense of humor, weightiness and passion for her art,” Arndt’s family wrote.
“His legacy, both on and off stage, will live in the hearts of family, friends and community members,” they continued. “He was charming, handsome, present in the moment, spontaneous and magnetic – a true Renaissance man.”

Arndt was born in Issaquhau in Washington on February 2, 1939.

“It was like Daddy’s life,” his family wrote. “It started in black and white and flourished into the life of colors, shine, bold adventure and passion.”
Arndt served as a pilot of the US Army helicopter in the war in Vietnam and twice awarded Purple Heart. After leaving the army, Arndt flew by helicopters on Alaska before moving to Seattle, where he launched an acting career after a friend assured him of audition at the local theater.
“Of course, Dad got a major role,” his family wrote. “And he was great. In his second career, he carried shine, passion and dedication on screen.”
Arndt’s family noticed that “he spent more seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival” in Ashland before he started his career at Hollywood.

The actor made his debut on the screen in the 1974 Rogue River TV movie, and his early television career included guest appearances in “The Wonder Years”, “Murder,” And “Life goes on”.
Arndt played a husband Mary Tyler Moore’s The titular character in the TV series “Annie McGuire” from 1988 to 1989 from 1990 to 1991 played a repeat role in “La Law” by David E. Kelly. Kelley would later star Arndta in many of his other legal dramas, including “Piquette fences”, “Ally McBeal”, “The Practice” and “Boston Legal”.

One of Arndt’s earliest film roles was in the 1992 erotic thriller. “Basic Institute”. He portrayed Lieutenant Phillip Walker, one of the investigators who questioned Sharon Stone’s character Catherine Tramell in one of the most significant scenes of the movie.

He appeared in the 1995 drama. “How to make an American blanket” and a 2001 sports drama.
In 2003, Arndt played as a SGT. Howard in the movie “Swat”, a movie about an action thriller based on the 1970s series of the same name.

In addition to his appearances in Kelley’s TV shows, Arndt’s later television work included the roles of the guest in “Gray’s Anatomy”, “CSI: Investigation of the Crime Place,” “Missing”, “Passionate” and “Good Fight”.

Arndt’s latest screen work included a guest appearance on the TV show “How to Escape with the Murder” and a role in the short movie “D-Over” 2023.

In her obituary, Arndt’s family wrote that he “reached the height of his career” when he received Tony award Nomination for his appearance at Broadway Play “Heisenberg” 2017.
Arndt’s family noticed that she would hold a private funeral service for the actor, adding “instead of flowers, you would ask you to go to the ball grab and follow your passion.”

“As the last curtain falls, we said goodbye to his father, knowing that he had earned a permanent standing ovation for the extraordinary life he was leading,” the obituary concluded.

Arndt survived the 45 -year -old wife, Magee Downey, his seven children and “many grandchildren, great -grandchildren and great -grandchildren”, as well as his niece.
