Just over five minutes in the third period, the capital was playing, and Ovechkin took advantage of the advantage, taking it and swallowing it with last goalkeeper Spencer Knight.

Alex Ovechkin Coefficient: When will the Wayne Gretzky Record Record?
This is the 14th season in which Ovechkin scored 40 career goals. If the league had not had a lock in 2012-13, he would probably have had 15 of these seasons. Although he led the league with 32 goals that year. He led NHL nine times in goals.
What is even more impressive is that Ovechkin missed almost two months of this season with a broken leg.
Ovechkin seemed to slow down a little last season, scoring 31 goals in 79 games. Maybe he got some juice, knowing he could knock down a record this season.
While Ovechkin breaks records, the capital are candidates for Stanley Cup. Their 105 points took second place in NHL.
