‘You’re not going to get it’: Teofimo Lopez mocks Richardson Hitchins over belt

Today on X, Teofimo Lopez showed off his belt collection and mocked IBF light heavyweight champion Richardson Hitchins. Lopez (21-1, 13 KOs) let Hitchins know he wasn’t going to win his belts.

Forecast for 2025

The belts that Teofimo showed will likely disappear until his next fight against Hitchins, a nightmare matchup for Theo. This guy is going to do to Theo what George Kambosos Jr. did to him.

Teofimo is expected to fight two opponents in 2025: Hitchins and Jeron ‘Boots’ Ennis. He could fight Hitchins first in the summer and Boots in October. This could be a down year for Lopez, having lost both fights and then entering February 2026 with his career on the line against either Devin Haney or Ryan Garcia.

Lopez won’t get much criticism from the fans for his loss to Boots Ennis, as he would move up to 147 to take on the top fighter in the division. However, Theo won’t get the same free pass if he gets beat by Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) and then gets embarrassed when he faces the loser of the Hany vs. Garcia 2 rematch in February 2026.

Teofimo looked bad by turning down what his promoter Bob Arum said was a big payday to defend against Subriel Matias. The purse would have been big, and he could have made more from the PPV. The rejection seemed like a duck move for Teofim, showing that he was scared.

Belt Bragging

“Hey Richardson, you can train right now, kid. You’re not going to get that,” Teofimo Lopez said on X, showing off his belt collection and mocking IBF light heavyweight champion Richardson Hitchins.

“Yo Boots, we’re coming for three,” Teofimo said of his bid to win Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’ IBF light heavyweight title to become a three-division world champion.
