Phoenix Mercury custodian Natasha Cloud lashed out at Elon Musk and other billionaires in social media posts Sunday after passage of a temporary funding bill to avert a government shutdown.
Musk and President-elect Donald Trump led a conservative rebellion against the initial plan to avert a partial shutdown, a bipartisan deal that emerged from negotiations between the two top Democrats and Republicans in both houses of Congress.

The 1,547-page bill would extend current government funding levels through March 14. But Republican hardliners were angered by what they saw as unrelated measures attached to the bill, such as a pay raise for members of Congress, health care provisions and legislation aimed at revitalizing RFK Stadium in Washington, DC
It was dropped as Trump and Musk threatened to force out of office any lawmaker who did not support pairing CR with action on the debt limit.
It caused a great controversy in the political arena a few hours before the House of Representatives finally adopted the law.
Cloud weighed himself days later.

“So when you leave, tell Elon to go back to Africa?” Cloud wrote on X.
“I’m so glad that ALL of these billionaires have no idea how the 3 branches of government work…or how to get a bill passed into law. Cheers to the 38 Republicans who defeated the bill in the House while being threatened and blackmailed.”
All Democrats voted in favor of the bill, except for Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, who voted “present.”
Cloud has been outspoken about the US in the past. After Trump won the election, she hit out at women who voted for the Republican candidate.
“The privilege of celebrating rn is exactly what’s wrong with us as humans,” she added. “I am truly concerned about my basic human rights.
