“WNBA strongly condemns racism, hatred and discrimination in all forms – they have no place in our league or in society. We are aware of the accusations and we look at that question,” the statement said.
The WNBPA Women’s Basketball Association also published a statement.
“WNBPA is aware of the report on hate comments on yesterday’s game in Indianapolis and supports the current investigation of WNBA this issue,” the union said. “Such behavior is unacceptable for our sport.
“According to the WNBA policy” there is no room for hatred, “we believe the league is to thoroughly investigate and take fast, appropriate measures to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.”
