The US Supreme Court has upheld a nationwide ban on TikTok unless Chinese parent company ByteDance sells the platform by this Sunday.
TikTok opposed the law, saying it would violate the free speech protections of the more than 170 million users it claims to have in the US.
But this argument was rejected by the Supreme Court of the country, which means that TikTok must now find an authorized buyer of the US program for the program or the face will be removed from the app stores and web hosting services.
However, the outgoing Biden administration and incoming President Donald Trump have been trying to rehabilitate the platform, which US officials have warned could pose a national security risk.
