Donald Trump’s Oval Office Vloadimir Jelnsky and short suspension of US military assistance has strengthened the Ukrainian President’s domestic popularity, leaving his opponents confused about how to challenge his leadership.
Trump questioned Jensky’s Democratic validity, called him a “dictator without an election”, and the Ukrainians rallied around their leader after he was torn in the face of an injury to the White House. After this meeting, Trump’s allies in the United States have called for Zelnsky to leave.
“We can hate him.
Gensky has since tried to spread relations with Washington, the Trump administration has adopted a mineral agreement, as well as 30 days of war on fuel infrastructure attacks that have agreed to Russia.
According to an opinion survey published by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIS), Zelnsky, after the clash at the Oval Office, has stood at 67 percent of the Ukrainean’s confidence in their President. This score represents the highest since December 2023.
KIS executive director Anton Hussevsky said, “The people of Ukraine viewed these events as a extensive attack on the country without criticizing the president.” Trump’s comments were “wrong, seeing as a knife in the back, this is why it had an impact around the president”.

However, the enthusiasm of the popularity of Gelnsky has created a dilemma for opposition groups that criticized the Ukrainian president earlier this year.
“This is a bit of a situation right now,” said Vloadimir’s Political Analyst, a Kiev -based Ukrainian political analyst. “You can criticize Zensky, but you are not seen as a team in favor of Trump.”
Former President Petro Poroshenko and his associates have recently criticized Zelnsky that he was on charges of weak management of international issues and to impose sanctions in Poroshenko last month.
Poroshenko said The German tabloid build Earlier this week, Zelnsky described the “nation leading the dictatorship”, describing the assets imposed as illegal and travel ban. However, he stopped Trump to call Zensky, and advised him to be removed from the office.
Poroshenko said, “It is a matter of Ukrainian people to lead, it is not a decision to be decided,” Poroshenko added that Jelnsky promised to serve only for a term while running for the President in 2019.
Lawyer Vloadimire Aryev from Poroshenko’s European Solidarity Party, Wrote on social media After the Oval Office clash: “We are now face to face an election between ‘very bad’ and ‘disaster’ again. And the government is completely responsible for it.”
Other, more basic opposition statistics have no qualms to apply directly to the US President. A MP from Olecasanda Dubinski Trump’s Switshirt and directly to the court directly to the court on charges of sedition earlier this month Thank you Dubinsky said at the end of February, X.
But when the media report claimed in early March claimed that former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshanko had been meeting with the Trump administration to discuss the possible snap elections, both of them rushed to deny the allegations.
“There is nothing really interesting here, there is no plot behind the screen,” Rostislav Pvelenko, a lawyer and Poroshenko Ally said. “Our message was always the same, more weapons for Ukraine, more sanctions on Russia and elections after the war ended.”
Statistics of Traditional opponents such as Poroshenko or Timoshanko have been shown in the backdrop of popularity in the opinion survey, although previous surveys have suggested that former top military commander Valery Jaluzhani beat the Ukrainian President. Jalujani did not say whether to participate in the future elections.
An MP and former publicity manager DMTro Rajumkov turned the Ukrainian president’s critic of the Ukrainian president, told the Financial Times that no election should be held until the “active episode” of the war was concluded.
“It is possible that we will see it this year,” said Rajumkov.
Elections have been postponed since the beginning of Russian aggression in 2022 and the introduction of military law. Government and civil society organizations have repeatedly mentioned that the threat of missile attacks, thousands of soldiers and several million Ukrainians voted abroad, and a comfortable election of technical and logical issues make it impossible and fair elections are impossible.
“If the issue of the election becomes even more real, we try to argue some politicians that they will be able to talk better with the United States to end the war”, compared to Zelnsky, Political analyst Fesnco said. “There are politicians who want to proceed this way, but they are also afraid of a false start. They see the level of support of Zelnsky and are not sure how to earn the current situation.”
Whether the popularity of Zelnsky will be permanent will be the evolution of relations with the United States as well as the results of the ceasefire discussion. The second phase of the US-Russia is scheduled for Monday in Saudi Arabia.
“This is a fragile situation because it depends very much on the current events,” said Hussevsky. “When people see the Zelnsky aggression against the aggression, they trust him more; but when we have a more healthy relationship with our partners, they begin to focus on the internal issue.”
