As U.S. airports and travelers continue to suffer the effects of the DHS shutdown — and as TSA officers continue to go without pay — some European countries are warning those who would potentially visit the U.S.
The United Kingdom, for example, updated its advice for traveling abroad for those who want to travel to the US — citing a “travel interruption.”
His warning says: “Some may have longer queues than usual American airports due to the partial shutdown of the US government.”

It goes on to say: “Check with your travel provider, departure airport or airline for the latest instructions.”
The delays are happening as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials walk off the job after going unpaid for the third time in nearly six months.

Sunday saw a national call rate of 10.19%, a TSA spokesperson told Fox News Digital this week.
That’s the highest rate the agency has seen.

On Tuesday, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson warned passengers about X-post delays — and called passengers out for trying to hack the system.
“We are seeing increased congestion at the international terminal checkpoint caused by domestic passengers trying to bypass lines at the domestic terminal,” airport officials wrote.

“If you’re flying domestically, use the domestic security checkpoints. Currently, wait times at the international checkpoint are longer than at the domestic terminal.”
Over the weekend, the roll calls increased major airports, with Houston reaching over 50% — while calls to New Orleans and Atlanta airports reached over 30%.

Call rates rose sharply across the country, with the highest one-day airport request rate hitting 55% at Houston Hobby International Airport on Friday.
In addition, 366 TSA officers now dropped during shutdown.

It takes 4-6 months to train and certify officers — creating a critical gap in staffing, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.
Travel expert Clint Henderson of the website The Points Guy told Fox News Digital that as the shutdown drags on, travelers can expect the situation to only get worse.

“TSA employees are going without pay and some are quitting. Others are having to take jobs to pay the bills,” Henderson said.
“Combination weather problems at major airports across the country are making things worse,” he added.

Passengers on a flight have the right to request a prompt refund if the airline cancels the flight, Henderson said, or if it is seriously delayed and the passenger chooses not to accept alternative reservations.

“You are entitled to a prompt refund to your original payment method within 21 days,” he said.
“It also covers delays within the US more than three hours or six hours for international flights.”
