Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia said the president-elect wants to the biggest war in Europe after World War II finish as soon as possible, as he will enter his third year in February.
Keith Kellogg, a retired US Army lieutenant general who served in Trump’s first administration, told America Reports on Wednesday that the “carnage” of the war, which began after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, needs to end. quickly.
“Russian victims, Ukrainian victims, damage in their cities — this is a war that needs to end. And I think he [Trump] may do so in the near future,” Kellogg said.
“I really have a lot of confidence in his ability to actually get to a position where this war is actually over. And I think people need to understand — he’s not trying to give something [Russian President Vladimir] Putin or the Russians. He’s actually trying to save Ukraine and save their sovereignty, and he’s going to make sure it’s fair and square.”

Trump repeatedly said during the 2024 election campaign that he could resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war within 24 hours.
At a news conference at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday, Trump said he knew Putin would like to meet with him but believed such a meeting would be inappropriate until he was officially sworn in as president on Inauguration Day on January 20.
He added that he would like to see the fighting end within six months.
“Look, Russia is losing a lot of young people, and so is Ukraine, and it should never have started,” he said. “It’s a war that shouldn’t have happened.”

Kellogg said he would like to set an even shorter timetable with a goal of 100 days to end the war.
“Let’s set it at 100 days and let’s go all the way back and figure out how we can do this in the near future to make sure that the solution is solid, sustainable and that this war ends so that we stop the carnage” he told Fox News host Sandra Smith. “I think it’s going to be very, very important to do that. It will be important for our national security. It is part of our vital national interests, and it is good for both Europe and the world.”
