President-elect Trump he will meet with Senate Republicans on Wednesday as he prepares to resume office at the end of the month and begin work on his agenda.
Trump’s transition team confirmed to Fox News Digital the meeting with the Senate GOP, which now controls the upper chamber.
The president-elect is being hosted at the gathering by the chair of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, RW.Va., her office said.

Trump will be in Washington, DC this week for the funeral former President Jimmy Carterwho died this month at the age of 100 after a stay in hospice.
The meeting, which will include the leadership of the Senate Republicans, among others, will be held in the Mansfield Chamber of the Capitol at 6 p.m. The room is used for weekly Senate caucus lunches and other large meetings.

The group will deal with plans for a budget reconciliation account, or two, in the coming months. Trump said he wanted “one strong bill,” as opposed to a proposal originally floated by Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., for two separate reconciliation bills, one on the border and one on settlement taxes.
The reason this process is so integral to Republicans’ work in this Congress is that it allows them to bypass the Senate’s legislative filibuster, lowering the 60-vote threshold. That way, the GOP can push the bill with the support of its conference.

But Trump hasn’t ruled anything out, including a two-count strategy, he told radio host Hugh Hewitt.

It’s unclear exactly which GOP senators will attend Wednesday night’s meeting with Trump, but Sen. Thom Tillis, RN.C., plans to go, according to his office.
Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., will also attend the hearing, telling Fox News Digital in a statement that “[l]I look forward to meeting with President Trump tomorrow. It’s important that we work together to pass a conservative, pro-American agenda.”
