President Donald Trump says he will extend the deadline for the European Union to deal with 50% tariff to July 9 phone call Ursula von der Leyen.
“We had a great call and I agreed to move it,” Trump told the reporters on Sunday when he returned to Washington.
From Leyen said earlier on Sunday a post of X that “Europe is ready to invade speeches to be motivated and enthusiastic,” but “a good deal” will require “time until July 9.” That’s the date that Trump’s 90-day stopping on his so-called reckcal tariffs ended.
The EU is set for a 20% tariff under Rotcecal rates notified in April.
But Trump on Friday threatens to impose a higher, 50% EU tariff after complaining of Bloc negotiations and uneven prompting companies with partners and regulations.
